About the artist
Stefano, a master leather artisan from Florence, Italy, has dedicated his life to mastering the art of leatherworking. Born in the early 1950s, Stefano's hands-on approach to life led him to explore various manual crafts. His passion for leatherwork ignited during his travels through Central and South America, where he was captivated by the versatility and durability of leather.
In the 1980s, Stefano returned to Italy, where he refined his craft in traditional saddlery and began designing his own unique leather creations. Over the years, he has mastered the art of creating his own vegetable-tanned leather, a process that is highly sustainable, environmentally friendly, and free from harmful chemicals. His vegetable leather not only looks and feels like traditional leather but also ages beautifully, developing a rich patina over time.
Known for his exceptional craftsmanship, Stefano specializes in crafting functional yet artistic leather products, including travel accessories and hiking gear. Today, his work reflects a perfect blend of tradition and innovation, ensuring that each piece is both a testament to sustainability and a functional work of art.
