About the artist
Claire grew up on the island of Guernsey, immersed in the rich colors and textures of nature. Her father, a skilled fisherman and craftsman, taught her the art of traditional Guernsey fishing baskets, crafting his own willow crab pots, ponier à cous, and courges—the iconic baskets of the region. Claire has developed a deep appreciation for willow and the heritage of her family craft, enjoying the tactile quality of this natural material, as well as proudly continuing and preserving a generations-old tradition.
